Forum Downtime.......:July 15, 2007:..
Just a head's up, the forums will have scheduled downtime tomorrow from around 12PM-1PM EST for maintenance for optimization to allow smoother and faster browsing.
Long story short, as you may all be aware of already, the site hasn't been updated for quite a while mainly due to a large number of reasons mostly related to a large number of obligations that I have to attend to offline and summer break being more rigorous than during the school year. Rest assured despite what some may suspect, there will be activity later on in the summer.
In a Nikkei Business Online article about the state of the anime industry this past year, the top 20 from Oricon's anime DVD sales rankings for 2007 (through Dec. 16) were made available:
1) Gedo Senki - 242,000 copies sold 2) Remy's Delicious Restaurant (aka Ratatouille) - 207,000 3) Shrek 3: Special Edition - 121,000 4) Leroy & Stitch - 93,000 5) My Neighbor Totoro - 83,000 6) Cars - 75,000 7) Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny Special Edition: The Cost of Freedom - 66,000 8) Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion Vol. 1 - 63,000 9) The World Of Golden Eggs Vol. 1 - 59,000 10) Code Geass Vol. 2 - 53,000 11) Mobile Suit Gundam DVD Box 2 - 51,000 12) The World Of Golden Eggs Season 2 DVD Box - 49,000 13) Code Geass Vol. 3 - 48,000 14) The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (standard edition) - 47,000 15) The World Of Golden Eggs Vol. 2 - 47,000 16) The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Vol. 7 (limited edition) - 45,000 17) Laputa: Castle In The Sky - 44,000 18) Pocket Monsters Advanced Generation: Pokemon Ranger & Prince of the Sea, Manaphy - 43,000 19) Code Geass Vol. 4 - 43,000 20) Code Geass Vol. 9 - 42,000
The article points out only five anime series ranked and not a single new anime TV series broadcast beginning in 2007 was among them.
As I have stated before in an earlier news post, I will be in fact expanding the site to encompass Gundam 00. Though of course as you may have noticed, there has been a delay due to school related reasons, I want to let you all know that I am devoting a very great deal of time to getting the new Gundam 00 site up and running.
Despite my long absence, I assure you, I am not out of date with Gundam 00, such as the fact its already at Episode 6, and the groups that are subbing it and releasing it to the public, etc. For those of you who have been and are still loyal to SG, thank you for your support and I know the wait has been long, but rest assured, progress is being made and as of right now, the layout is complete and I am in the stage of adding content and of course, refining that which I feel doesn't seem right.
Also, for both SG members and... you know.. "leechers", I will be hosting episodes for direct download on our server for both your comfort, and for your enjoyment.
3 new wallpapers have been added submitted by Arial featuring the Freedom Gundam amongst the height of the clouds, Kenwin featuring a group photo of many of the characters from Gundam Seed Destiny, and last, but not least, AoiHime with a most gorgeous wallpaper titled "Shadow of Lacus"!
After some consideration, it has been decided that Seed Genesis shall continue expansion to the far reaches of Gundam 00 making it the first non-Cosmic Era expansion yet. Currently, the tentative placeholder for the site is at http://00.seedgenesis.net or http://www.seedgenesis.net/00,whichever is easier for you. Discussion for Gundam 00 can take place in the newly made Gundam 00 section of the forums. I am am in the process of assimilating information and content that I will try to have unleashed long before October. So keep your eyes peeled!
If you would like to help out in any way, shape or form, please feel free to drop me an email. Keep in mind that regardless of the new expansion, I will continue be updating the CE sections of the site.
I have a plethora of emails with wallpapers and content that I have not been able to check due to my busy schedule. Rest assured I will get through them! For now, I present a beautiful wallpaper by ASH Hikari featuring Lacus Clyne herself.
If you have any creations whether fanart, fanfic, wallpaper, or avatar, please do not hesitate to email them to me and I will be glad to show them off on the site.
Many apologies for those of you who had to sit through the long hiatus! On a happy note, I am proud to say that I have returned from my long vacation and will be updating again. The reason for the site's downtime was the fact that we had consumed too much of the server's resources, but I am glad to say that we are back in action thanks to a donation from One Sin. Though the series may be over in Japan, the spirit of Gundam Seed and the Cosmic Era will live on!
The PSP (Playstation Portable) will feature Gundam Seed's ever popular Federation vs. ZAFT. The intro features TM Revolution's Invoke and the ending features See-Saw. Gundam Seed Destiny will also be featured in the game as well. Currently planned for a Japanese release, this will bring great news to those who get the chance to import it. The graphics are extremely good that are very close to the PS2 version. The clip below features the very first look at the gameplay and graphics of the PSP version and is pretty good for a PSP game. Don't have a PSP? Sounds like a good time to get one.
