Description |
Yuuna is the son of Unato Ema Seylan. Him and his father are trying to take control over ORB by using Cagalli's inexperience to his advantage. He is the fiance of Cagalli not because of love, but just so that he can maintain and secure his power therefore ensuring his rule of all ORB. He has a liking for the Earth Alliance apparently, as he was one of the people who supported the treaty, and he might be a Blue Cosmos member.

Background:
Yuuna Roma Seylan is the son of Unato Ema Seylan. Yuuna and his father are both Emirs of ORB. Yuuna is often driven by his own greed and lust for power supported by his father, who also wishes him to rise to become the Chief Representative of ORB. Yuuna has a great attraction to Cagalli both because of her looks as well as her position of power. Yuuna tries to accomplish his goal of becoming the Chief Representative of ORB by marrying Cagalli so that he will have complete power. With that said, Yuuna favors power rather than Cagalli, even if it means risking Cagalli's life. These actions began with the time when Cagalli first arrives back to ORB in CE73 and when they discuss about the offer from the Earth Alliance to join forces by signing a treaty. Yuuna at that time and onward, kept pressuring her to sign it backed by his father who also played a role in supporting his son's descisions.
Personality:
Both cocky and greedy, Yuuna has without a doubt, on of the worst personalities. He is extremely open in expressing his love for Cagalli such as when Cagalli first arrives back in ORB(Phase-8) when he runs up to her and hugs her. Later on(Phase-11), he even tries to kiss her in which Cagalli lowers her face so that his lips would only touch her forehead and not her lips. He also believes that Coordinators are pathetic, and to further pursuade Cagalli to marry her, he grabs Cagalli's hands and uses his index finger and his thumb to wiggle her ring while saying how Coordinator boyfriends are pathetic and how her Coordinator brother Kira Yamato doesn't really care about her. His actions are very rash and are executed only to support his own aims. In addition to being cocky, he can also become a crybaby and act like a psychopath(Phase-14) when he cries at the sight of Cagalli being carried away by Kira Yamato and his Freedom Gundam as well as grabs ahold of Colonel Todaka muttering completely incomprehensible words that make him seem like a madman. When Cagalli is gone and he is called out to battle by the Earth Alliance, he reluctantly abuses his power by dubbing himself as the Supreme Commander of ORB and goes out with ORBs naval fleet into combat.(Phase-16). He acts even more cocky by giving a name to the current operation as he feels that ORB would be able to take care of everything. In combat, he gives out rash orders that shock all of his commanders as well. When he communicates and discusses strategy with the Earth Alliance Commander Neo Lorrnoke, he acts extremely cocky and comes up with plans of his own, but when the Earth Alliance commander proposes a new one, he switches his state of mind and agrees with the strategy of Neo's, however he is still cocky while saying that, in which even Neo notices and compliments on the confidence Yuuna has in ORB, when ORB is really only a pawn of the Earth Alliance. When in danger, he makes even more rash decisions such as firing at a mobile suit that Cagalli Yula Athha was on, when Neo contacted him asking what was going on when he paused as he said how it might deteriorate relations between the Earth Alliance and ORB. His officers are shocked by his decisions as well, but still carry out his plans. Colonel Todaka is often upset about the rash actions he takes and prays that Kira and his ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam will be able to take care of the situation. Yuuna is clearly one of the most immature leaders of all. Though seemingly boastful, he is really actually a coward at heart as he looked utterly pathetic when during his wedding, he ran away from the Freedom leaving behind his bride, Cagalli.
Punched and Shoved:
As a Representative hated by many, he was punched in the face 2 times. Once from an ORB Soldier under Cagalli's orders, and the second from Cagalli herself. He was thrown to the ground 2 times with the first from Colonel Todaka and the second from Cagalli herself.
